Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how our Instagram monitoring application (“App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our service to monitor and manage your Instagram business account activity, including comments, mentions, and engagement metrics.

By using our App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. This policy is designed to comply with applicable data protection laws and Meta’s Platform Terms.

1. Information We Collect

Instagram Business Account Information

When you connect your Instagram Business Account to our App, we may collect:

  • Instagram Business Account ID and username
  • Profile information (display name, profile picture, bio)
  • Account metrics and insights
  • Connected Facebook Page information

Content and Engagement Data

To provide monitoring and engagement services, we collect:

  • Comments on your Instagram posts (text, timestamps, commenter usernames)
  • Mentions of your account in comments and captions
  • Direct messages sent to your Instagram Business Account (if enabled)
  • Post metadata (media IDs, post timestamps, engagement counts)
  • Story insights and metrics (if enabled)
  • Live video comments (if enabled)

Usage and Technical Data

We automatically collect certain information about your use of the App:

  • Log data (IP addresses, browser type, access times)
  • Device information (operating system, device identifiers)
  • App usage statistics and interaction patterns
  • Error logs and diagnostic information

Note: We only collect data that you authorize through the Instagram Graph API. We do not access any information beyond what you explicitly grant permission for.

Data Storage

Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide our services:

  • Active engagement data (comments, mentions): Retained while your account is active
  • Historical analytics data: Retained for up to 90 days or as configured
  • Account information: Retained until you disconnect your Instagram account or delete your App account
  • Log data: Retained for up to 30 days for security and diagnostic purposes

Security Measures

We implement multiple layers of security, including:

  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Secure authentication via Instagram OAuth 2.0
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Access controls and authentication mechanisms
  • Webhook signature verification for data integrity

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

No Sale of Personal Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

Service Providers

We may share information with trusted service providers who assist in operating our App:

  • Cloud hosting providers (for infrastructure and storage)
  • Analytics providers (for usage statistics and performance monitoring)
  • Security services (for fraud detection and prevention)

These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.

Access and Control

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your data at any time
  • Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Withdraw Consent: Disconnect your Instagram account to revoke access

How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise any of these rights, you can:

  • Disconnect your Instagram account through the App settings
  • Revoke permissions via Instagram Settings → Apps and Websites
  • Contact us using the information provided in Section 11

Data Deletion

When you disconnect your Instagram account or request data deletion, we will permanently delete your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. Instagram Data Deletion

In accordance with Meta Platform Policy, we provide a data deletion callback URL that allows users to request deletion of their data. When you deauthorize our App:

  • We receive a deletion request notification
  • All your Instagram data is permanently deleted within 30 days
  • You receive confirmation once deletion is complete

You can also request data deletion by visiting your Instagram settings: Settings → Security → Apps and Websites → Active → [Our App] → Remove

7. Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for users under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Instagram’s terms of service require users to be at least 13 years old.

If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child without proper parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information immediately.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have different data protection laws. When we transfer your data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make changes:

  • We will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy
  • Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification
  • Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy

  • We do not use Instagram data for surveillance or tracking purposes
  • We implement required data deletion callbacks
  • We maintain transparent data practices as required by Meta
